Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Carrum is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and grow our Data Operations and Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data engineering and the modern data stack, as well as exceptional people management and cross-functional communication skills.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 2 years in a management or technical leadership role
• Strong, hands-on experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms and their respective data services
• Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with modern data warehousing/data lake concepts
• Demonstrable experience working with sensitive healthcare data (e.g., PHI, EMR/EHR, Claims data) and ensuring HIPAA compliance
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with a major orchestration tool like Apache Airflow or similar
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
