Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Cloud Engineer serves as a senior technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and managing hybrid IT environments that leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on‐premises Windows Server infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Lead the engineering, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications hosted in AWS and on‐premises Windows Server environments. Provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support, including patching, hardening, system upgrades, performance tuning, and routine maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong expertise with AWS services, including but not limited to: S3, EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch.
• Advanced Windows Server administration experience, including installation, configuration, security hardening, patching, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and auto-scaling solutions in cloud environments.
• Experience supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and working within Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for work management and documentation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues across application, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, including the ability to create clear diagrams, procedures, and design artifacts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and identify and implement system and process improvements.
• Proven experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team capability growth is highly desirable.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
