Taper/Finisher

E&K is looking to hire Taper/Finishers for long-term projects in Omaha, Lincoln, and Columbus, NE. Responsibilities include laying out and installing drywall beads, preparing surfaces, and applying joint compound.

Requirements

• Ability and willingness to learn company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
• Knowledge and ability to use tools, materials, and equipment necessary for completing finish carpentry projects
• Knowledge of basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to read (blueprints) plans and specifications
• Ability to accurately measure materials
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, and stilts
• Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
• Lifting over 100 lbs. occasionally
• Lifting 50-60 lbs. frequently
• Lifting, pushing, pulling 15 lbs. on a regular and constant basis
• Reaching above shoulder and at shoulder height
• Stooping and bending to cut wood and metal studs
• Standing and walking for 8 hours per day
• Climbing scaffold as high as 3-4 stories
• Full use of fingers and both hands required
• Simultaneous mental alertness and muscular coordination
• Vision correctable to at least 20/40
