Chevron is seeking a Managing Editor, Newsroom who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Chevron's Content Newsroom and how that content cascades into our broader integrated programs. The Managing Editor will manage a team of brand journalists and editors, develop communications strategy and content across paid, owned and shared channels, and ensure the Newsroom stays on schedule and meets publishing commitments.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience working in journalism, digital/media/publishing, newsroom environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Experience setting the editorial strategy at large publication, website, and company—and leading a team of content creators to deliver against that strategy.
- Experience leading and developing a team of writers, developers, and editors in an agile publishing environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and build consensus in multi-disciplinary teams; interacts effectively with leadership, peers, partners, and suppliers.
- Experience developing digital content and online engagement strategies in bold, innovative, and unexpected ways.
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail and good judgment in thoughtfully executing stories.
- A portfolio of work that draws on expertise in innovation as well as both internal + external communications, with a demonstrated focus on external communications.
- Experience navigating a Fortune 50 organization and working within strict guidelines.
- Previous experience using rigorous data and analysis to determine success of campaign and ideate - how we can improve, and where do we go from here
