Welder 2nd shift

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company that develops, manufactures, and repairs critical turbine components for the aerospace, energy, and defense industries. We are seeking a Welder 2nd shift to join our team of experts, innovators, and problem-solvers.

Requirements

• Obtain specified electrode and insert it into a portable holder or thread a consumable electrode wire through a portable welding gun
• Connect cables from the welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse
• Start the power supply to produce electric current and strike an arc to melt and deposit metal from the electrode to the casting
• Examine the weld for bead size and other specifications
• Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal
• Clean or degrease the weld joint or casting
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter
• Preheat the casting with a hand torch or heating furnace as required
• Position and clamp castings together or assemble them in a jig or fixture
• Tack assemblies together
