Part-Time PE Teacher seeks to provide educational experiences for students with disabilities, evaluates student progress, and creates a flexible learning environment. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Connecticut State Department of Education certification or willingness to pursue.
Requirements
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time
- Provide differentiated and integrated assessment and evaluation strategies to support student learning
- Establish and support guidelines for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students
- Use technology to assist in developing, providing and supporting instruction for special education students
- Confer with administrators, social workers, and other professionals to implement IEPs
- Collaborate with other academic teachers to integrate course content and provide support for students experiencing behavioral and academic challenges
- Assist in developing transition planning for students returning to the public-school setting, workplace setting, and/or other educational programs
- Provide educational case management services for identified students as needed
- Be an active member on an interdisciplinary treatment team
