Principal Cloud Platform Engineer

Role Overview

As a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be part of the StoreFront team, responsible for growing and scaling our Cloud StoreFront Product, with over 3 million monthly active users. You will help build and maintain our Cloud Infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include acting as a senior technical authority for reliability, availability, and operability of our cloud platform, shaping system designs, owning technical quality, and driving improvements to reliability practices.

Requirements

• Significant experience operating, evolving, and supporting large-scale, production cloud services
• Deep understanding of modern cloud native systems, including containerised workloads and Kubernetes based platforms
• Strong experience designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (for example, Terraform)
• Proven ability to design, build, and evolve CI/CD platforms and deployment pipelines
• Experience writing and reviewing production quality code or automation in languages such as C#, Groovy, PowerShell, or similar
• Extensive experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting, and with using telemetry to drive reliability improvements
• Experience operating in regulated or compliance driven environments and designing systems and processes that meet multiple compliance requirements
• Ability to lead technical discussions, challenge designs, and make pragmatic trade-offs in ambiguous situations
