Civil Engineer I

Role Overview

Perform professional engineering duties in areas such as tunnels, highways, bridges, buildings, and facilities, following sound engineering principles, laws, regulations, and standards. Oversee and review work performed by contractors, participate in field investigations, and recommend modifications to plans and specifications.

Requirements

• At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, technical or professional experience in civil engineering work
• Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required
• An Associate's degree with a major in civil engineering or civil engineering technology may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience
• A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in civil engineering or civil engineering technology may be substituted for the required experience
