Assistant Teacher

The Preschool: Compass Christian Preschool is a ministry of Compass Christian Church. Compass is a church of 4000 and growing with campuses in Colleyville, Grapevine, Roanoke and Online. The preschool provides early childhood education, for children ages 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten in a loving Christian environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education required
• Preschool experience preferred
• Ability to listen and follow directions provided by the lead teacher
• Is organized and has the ability to multitask
• Is a great team player with co-workers
• Is dedicated to keeping a high standard of care at all times with children
• Work with minimal physical restrictions; lift up to 25 lbs., being able to stand for extended periods, climb into an indoor play structure and sit on the floor to play with children
• Can think on their feet, work well under pressure
• Has the ability to assess and properly respond to situations that arise
• Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving
• Demonstrate competency, good judgement, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities
• Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience
• Willingness to grow and learn as a teacher
• Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and their cultures
• Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the school
