Powerline Trainee

The Powerline Trainee position is an entry-level role that provides support to the crew and job, and supervised exposure to the Powerline trade, allowing the Trainee to acquire the knowledge and basic job skills to make an informed decision on whether to pursue the trade and enter the Apprenticeship Program.

Requirements

• Use hand tools
• Identify materials
• Work as a ground person & material handle
• Dig pole holes, anchors, etc.
• Perform labour-type work in pole setting and URD
• Operate bucket and boom trucks
• Climb
• Install and pull on cold construction
• Frame poles on the ground
• Assists in warehouse cleanliness, recycling and waste disposal
• Operate forklifts, carts, dollies and other equipment as required
• Assist with snow removal and yard access requirements
• Load, unload and move materials around the worksite
• Maintain clean and organized work environment
• Assist with maintaining a safe work environment and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
• Participate in health and safety related duties
