Clinical Veterinarian

Role Overview

The Clinical Veterinarian provides diagnostic and clinical veterinary care for client-owned animals in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. This includes various medical and surgical procedures. The role involves working with a team of clinicians, interns, residents, and students to provide total care for animal patients.

What You Will Do

Provides and directs clinical care of client-owned animals, coordinates with technical staff, and performs diagnostic surgical and medical procedures. Also, provides on-call and backup emergency services, and teaches clinical skills to veterinary students.

Requirements

• Graduate of College of Veterinary Medicine accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
• Certification by the AVMA's education commission for foreign veterinary graduates (ECFVG) or the program for the assessment of veterinary education equivalence (PAVE)
• Three years of related experience
• Licensed DVM in at least one state
• State of Texas Veterinary License
• Passing score on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) and the Texas State Board examination
