DataCamp is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Platform Engineering department. The role involves building and maintaining the data platform that powers DataCamp's data-driven organization. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in data engineering and is passionate about working with AI agents and MCPs.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- Experience with data warehousing (e.g. BigQuery or Snowflake) and data engineering related tools (e.g. Airflow, Looker, Metabase, Fivetran, Airbyte)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Ability to develop in Python and write SQL
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as part of their day-to-day engineering workflow
- Understanding of what MCP is, or is willing to learn it fast, and can reason about how to safely expose data and tooling to agents
- Understanding of Scrum and Kanban
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Interest in understanding and scaling complex data pipelines
- Interest in monitoring and self-healing systems
- Highly organized with a flexible, can-do attitude and a willingness and aptitude for learning
