The Mental Health Technician will administer psychological tests, conduct patient interviews, and assist with treatment plans. Requirements
- Administering, scoring, and reporting psychological test results
- Interviewing patients to obtain biopsychosocial history, personal information
- Assisting professional staff to carry out prescribed treatment plan
- Conducting briefings, performing or supervising psychological test administration
- Interviewing and assisting in patient treatment or substance abuse prevention and counseling
- Providing mental health and substance abuse prevention education
- Maintaining therapeutic relationships
- Conducting in-service training
- Receiving patients and scheduling appointments
- Evaluating mental health service activities
- Collecting and updating administrative and statistical data
- Conducting unit self-assessments
- Compiling and preparing medical and administrative reports
- Briefing patients on safety and evacuation procedures
- Applying manual/physical restraints to prevent staff and patient injury
- Participating in committees, functions, and meetings
- Providing relevant and timely information to groups
- Assisting with decision-making and process improvement
- Ensuring a safe work environment, employee safe work habits, and patient safety
