Transportation Engineer - Entry-Mid Level

DOWL is a top-ranked, multi-disciplined consulting firm seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to contribute to a variety of exciting and impactful transportation projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical proficiency in at least one design software platform, a passion for learning new 2D and 3D design techniques, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Developing skills in Market Sector Software (AutoCAD C3D)
• Basic skills in 3D design and visualizations (e.g., Revit, Infraworks)
• Intermediate understanding of technical fundamentals
• Ability to perform moderately complex design tasks independently
• Ability to effectively divide projects into individual tasks
• Ability to lead technical effort on small projects
• Ability to perform quality control technical checking of basic deliverables
• Ability to review, interpret, and employ appropriate design guidance from technical memos and reports
• Team player with ability to follow on large, complex projects and lead a small team on simple tasks
• Strong understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Ability to predict and deliver individual tasks within a set level of effort
• Ability to consistently meet budget and schedule expectations on projects
• Proficient in selecting and employing design codes (AASHTO and FHWA - Advanced, Local Client - Advanced)
• Ability to frequently communicate with clients and resolve issues on small projects
• Ability to attend client meetings and use situationally appropriate communication tools
