Lead Engineer Data

Role Overview

Empower-Retirement is looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to design and build data structures, maintain and optimize existing data structures, and implement ELT/ETL pipelines and database structures. The Sr Data Engineer will collaborate with other developers on the team and work with internal technology teams to understand and aid in the implementation of database and data transformation requirements.

What You Will Do

Design and build data structures, maintain and optimize existing data structures, build ELT/ETL Python scripts, validate data and transformations, analyze data discrepancies, integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies, and document data lineage.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of Python programming experience, strong experience with building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, and excellent communication skills. Experience with BI ETL tools, cloud-based data engineering in AWS, and Business Intelligence is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software/computer engineering, applied mathematics, or physics statistics
• 6+ years of Python programming experience
• Strong experience with building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Python
• Strong experience with Postgres and PSQL writing data transformation and data structures
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with non-technical partners
• Experience working in an Agile environment working on a Scrum team
