Environmental Inspector (Field Based)

ERM is hiring Environmental Inspectors to oversee environmental compliance during the construction phase of Electric Transmission Utility projects. The role requires experience working in and throughout Virginia, with a BS or BA degree or 5 years equivalent environmental inspection experience. The position involves conducting field inspections, monitoring, and survey work, interacting with agency officials, and providing technical leadership to field staff.

Requirements

• BS or BA degree or 5 years equivalent environmental inspection experience
• Experience working in and throughout Virginia
• Experience working with VA SWPP Guidelines
• Understanding of construction gained through field experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Proficient technical skills, including Microsoft Office programs and digital cameras
• Knowledge of environmental sampling methods
• Ability to travel extensively and work 40 to 70+ hours per week in a physically demanding position
