Essie Justice Group is a national coalition of women whose loved ones are incarcerated, dedicated to confronting the systemic harms of mass incarceration. Through its Healing to Advocacy curriculum, the organization empowers members to heal families, build community resilience, and become effective advocates for criminal‑justice reform. The group focuses on criminal justice, gender justice, racial equity, and Black feminist perspectives, offering policy‑reform advocacy, community organizing, and support services. By centering the lived experiences of women and fostering a collaborative network, Essie Justice Group distinguishes itself as a grassroots, women‑led movement that translates personal healing into public policy change.
