Job Description
The Lead Accountant/Hauptbuchhalter will manage the accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and robust internal controls. This role requires oversight of financial records, month-end/year-end closing, financial reporting, and auditing. The position reports to the Finance Manager and is based in Berlin.
Requirements
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting (lead or supervisory role)
- Strong knowledge of German accounting principles and regulations
- Experience with international accounting standards (IFRS) is preferred
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Fluent in German and English, both verbal and written
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
