Mechanical Engineer

Farcast is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and evaluation of mechanical systems for a next-generation phased array antenna for satellite communications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD, and FEA simulation tools, and a proven track record of bringing designs to production.

Requirements

• Lead the design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems
• Perform and interpret FEA simulations of components
• Optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly
• Own 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies
• Team with PCB Design engineers to define and document mechanical interfaces for PCBs
• Design and build test fixtures required for sub-system and system-level testing
• Collaborate with team members to address mechanical and thermal considerations during testing
• Support assembly, integration, and testing of Farcast Products
• Develop and maintain manufacturing and assembly instructions for Farcast products
