The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving long-term sales growth, margins, and profitability in their assigned territory/defined customer base. Success is achieved by technical sales support, sales lead generation, and general business development for the territory and other select accounts, as required.
Requirements
- Provides in-person sales coverage of an assigned territory, requiring the use of a personal vehicle
- Develops maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses
- Builds and maintains quality relations with existing assigned accounts and grows account base and volume of sales consistently
- Contact customers via telephone, correspondence, or in person by traveling as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass profitable sales goals for the company
- Creates customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner
- Manages profit margins within company guidelines
- Receives and resolves customer requests promptly
- Utilizes company leads to expand the current customer base and follows up on all leads promptly
- Maintains updated, organized files on all accounts in the assigned territory
- Completes and submits sales reports on account activity
- Provides monthly documentation with outstanding proposals, proposals secured, and proposals lost
