Field Apprentice I - Heavy Equipment (or) Fixed Plant Mechanic

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Field Apprentice I for Heavy Equipment or Fixed Plant Mechanics. This hands-on learning experience includes classroom training and on-the-job training, with supervisors providing guidance. The role involves performing maintenance and operations activities with minimal supervision and includes safety inspections and wear and tear reports.

Requirements

• Completion of mechanical apprenticeship or training institute program
• Academic and practical competencies demonstrating aptitude
• Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills
• Ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions
• Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment
• Ability to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
