DEC - Sign Language Interpreter

The DEC - Sign Language Interpreter will provide communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in sign language, have passed the EIPA, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Certified in sign language
• Passed the EIPA
• Ability to work with children who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Flexibility to work with EC teachers as directed
• Ability to prepare in advance lesson vocabulary and activities
• Ability to maintain hearing aids, auditory trainers, and FM systems
• Technical skills to operate a computer terminal
• Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age groups
