26-27 Exceptional Children Teacher

The Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington is seeking a Full-Time Exceptional Children Teacher to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a commitment to supporting student mastery, and critical thinking skills. The teacher will provide individualized instruction to students with disabilities, focusing on their unique needs and IEP goals, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• NC Teacher Certification in Special Education
• Demonstrated ability to teach the North Carolina Future Ready Course of Study content to students in grades 6-12
• Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities
