Licensed Assistant Engineer - Fishing Vessel

North Star Fishing Company is a leading producer of frozen-at-sea groundfish products, and we're looking for a Licensed Assistant Engineer to join our team. As an Assistant Engineer, you will be responsible for managing 12 hour watch, coordinating activity of the engineering staff, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of the vessel. You will also be required to perform system checks, troubleshoot electrical systems, and implement regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• Must hold an appropriate U.S. Coast Guard Assistant Engineer license of an uninspected fishing vessel
• 1 year experience as an Assistant Engineer preferred
• Work 12 hrs/day for 7 days/week in all weather conditions
• Repetitively lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Self-motivated team-player
• Understand instructions and safety rules in English
• Must be able to provide 2 recent positive references from previous employers
• Capable of climbing and descending steep stairs and vertical ladders
