Job Description
KCCI, a CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking an experienced meteorologist to deliver accurate and relatable weather forecasts. The role involves forecasting severe weather events, providing urgent information, summarizing complex data, and reporting live from the field. The meteorologist will report to the News Director and work with a variety of platforms.
Requirements
- Professional or schooling on-air experience handling breaking news and severe weather coverage
- In-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting
- Knowledgeable about how to interpret and translate high-powered radar data
- Experience with common television weather systems
- Experience with live field reporting on weather and other topics
- Experience with live field reporting on weather and other topics
- NWA and CBM seals are a plus
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends
