Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft. The Manufacturing Team at Hermeus are responsible for building a vehicle that will fly, providing crucial design feedback to the engineering team, and rapidly iterating on design and assembly.
Requirements
- Lead improvement projects to ensure safety, reliability, and process capability goals are achieved, maintained, and improved
- Provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware and take a lead role in the manufacturing and integration of our current and next-generation vehicles
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations/implementation
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove waste from complex processes
- Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively communicating with and influencing stakeholders
- Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices
- Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements
- Ideate and implement tooling and test solutions, enabling high-quality hardware
- Be responsible for the manufacturability and introduction into the rate manufacturing environment of assigned products
- Contribute to design reviews acting as an expert in design for manufacturability, design for testability, yield improvements, supplier capabilities assessments, quality control, etc
- Be the primary point of contact for the production of non-conforming products, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations, and corrective actions
- Work on process and tooling development/validation for new products
- Drive the optimization of assembly and test procedures
- Prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition from development to production
