MACHINIST (CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

Outside machinists are assigned responsibility for installing, grooming and testing the ship’s major mechanical components and systems. They operate a wide variety of tools and machinery, including wrenches, screwdrivers, saws, drill presses, and lathes.

Requirements

• Must have one or more certificates of completion or diploma in machining or a directly related field
• Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
• Must be able to lift 40lbs
• Must be able to do overhead work
• Must be able to work at extreme heights and confined spaces
• Must be able to work outdoors
