RIGGER ENTRY LEVEL - FOR 2026 HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS OR GRADUATES

Riggers provide the kinetic energy of the shipbuilding business, operating cranes, forklifts, and tug boats to lift, manipulate, and set ship components into place. They must calculate weight, center of gravity, and lift points, and select the most appropriate gear for the task. Riggers also erect, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding, and install and maintain ventilation equipment.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Willing to undergo a background investigation and drug screen
• Pass physical agility test
• Kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb on a daily basis
• Lift at least 40 pounds
• Perform overhead work
• Work overtime as needed
• Be clean shaven to wear a respirator
• Perform work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions
• Work at extreme heights
• Work in small, tight, confined spaces
• Work any shift
