Mechanical Technician

IKO Industries Ltd. is a market leader in the manufacturing of roofing and building materials. The company is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance & engineering department at the IKO Fiberglass Mat Plant in Chester, South Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely maximizing plant performance and run time through effective troubleshooting, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing of manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry
• 1+ year of proven forklift operating experience
• Comfortable with working in a dusty environment
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Fluent in verbal and written English
• Ability to follow direction and specific instructions
• Good communication skills
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Comfortable with standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift
