Hospice Medical Director (MD/DO)

Inova is seeking a Hospice Medical Director to oversee the medical component of hospice care, ensuring compassionate and high-quality end-of-life experiences for patients. This role involves clinical leadership, regulatory compliance, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and providing services across various settings, including inpatient hospitals, senior living, and private homes. The role requires clinical care for all levels of hospice, focusing on interdisciplinary team collaboration and patient experience optimization.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.
• Completion of an approved American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association residency (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine preferred).
• Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine or Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Qualified but non-board-certified physicians with more than 10 years of experience in geriatric medicine or hospice & palliative medicine may be considered.
• Current Virginia State license (or ability to obtain) to practice DEA, and CDS certificates.
• Able to meet the requirements for membership on the Inova Medical Staff.
