Senior/Staff Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to build and scale core backend systems powering next-generation AI-native enterprise software in the finance and ERP domain. The role requires strong ownership and technical expertise to design and deliver high-performance backend services.

Design, build, and scale core backend systems, develop robust APIs and services, own the full software lifecycle, and work closely with product teams to translate complex accounting and finance requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering roles
• Strong experience building scalable, production-grade backend systems with complex business logic
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar environments)
• Strong expertise in databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL, ORM frameworks, schema design, and data migrations
• Experience designing and building robust APIs and backend services
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations
• Ability to work with evolving requirements in complex, high-scale systems
• Experience in fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environments
• Python experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django is a strong plus
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (C1+)
• Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and ability to move quickly with high autonomy

• Base salary range: USD $140,000 – $250,000
