Senior Controls Systems Engineer

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to drive the design and development of control system software for industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The team delivers advanced controls for chillers, air handlers, and smart building products that optimize cooling/heating performance and energy costs.

Requirements

• BS in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline; MS preferred.
• 6+ years of controls development experience, including at least 3 years of Model-Based Design using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience producing software requirements and specifications.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and support fast-paced product delivery.
• Experience with system identification, modeling, and data analysis is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink; experience applying MBSD in embedded systems and driving automation, optimization, and toolchain improvements.
• Proficiency reading embedded code in C/C++ and scripting in Python/MATLAB.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% as required to support projects and customers.
