School Bus Driver - Trainee

Role Overview

Barr Transportation is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as School Bus Driver Trainees. This is a paid training position designed to prepare candidates to become licensed school bus drivers.

What You Will Do

Participate in classroom, behind-the-wheel, and hands-on training programs. Safely operate a school bus under supervision during training. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Learn proper student management and safe loading/unloading procedures.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Candidates who successfully complete the training program and meet all licensing and qualification requirements may be offered employment as either a Part-Time or Full-Time School Bus Driver with Barr Transportation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Ability to pass required background checks, fingerprinting, drug screening, and DOT physical examination.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Must be reliable, patient, and safety-oriented.
