Role Overview

Assigns work for Company and owner operator trailer drivers for conveyance of freight. Compiles and maintains list of available drivers. Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight.

What You Will Do

Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers. Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate parties of any changes. Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return. Investigates overdue vehicles. Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis. Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
