SQL Database Developer II

The SQL Database Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing Microsoft SQL-based relational databases and the suite of MSBA Applications. This position also involves developing and supporting complex data sets utilizing various reporting platforms, ensuring data is available to all users, and administering database systems through security, backup and recovery, tuning, automation, and disaster recovery planning and testing.

Requirements

• Design, develop, test, and implement changes and enhancements to current and developing SQL Databases
• Develop an understanding of MSBA business processes and workflows
• Support business and client users of the web application through ‘back-end’ database problem solving and troubleshooting
• Work with Web development team to design and develop application business and data layers
• Write and maintain comprehensive documentation
• Maintain and optimize the databases, data sources, and Query server performance
• Design and implement new tables to store data and related performance monitoring
• Code stored procedures of high complexity to meet business requirements
• Implement and maintain SSRS reports
• Oversee database performance issues and guide optimizations in systems design
• Implement physical data model and data access layer
• Deliver work products that meet specifications, are free of defects, and have excellent performance
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with co-workers and project teams
• Support development and ongoing maintenance of MSBA Applications
• Keep up to date with database development best practices
• Support the operational strategies and priorities of the MSBA
