Photonics Design Engineer

MBRYONICS is at the forefront of free space optical communications and is looking for a Photonics Design Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will contribute to the full Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) development lifecycle, including design, simulation, testing, and implementation of photonic components and systems.

Requirements

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Photonics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and testing of photonic components (e.g., lasers, photodiodes, modulators).
• Proficient in Python and related scientific libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy; familiarity with Linux environments is an asset.
• Skilled in numerical simulation methods commonly used in photonics, including FDTD, EME, FDE, FEM, and time-/frequency-domain circuit solvers.
• Familiar with photonic test methods and willing to perform hands-on device testing when required.
• Strong analytical and data presentation abilities, with attention to clarity and precision.
• Comfortable filling a variety of roles in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accurate engineering.
