Part-Time Fixed Route Operator

The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is inviting retirees and former MATA Fixed Route Operators to return as part-time operators. This is an excellent opportunity to continue serving the Memphis community while enjoying flexible part-time scheduling and maintaining your connection with public transit operations.

Requirements

• Safely operate MATA vehicles on assigned routes and schedules.
• Provide assistance to passengers, including those with disabilities or mobility challenges.
• Operate a two-way radio to communicate with dispatch regarding route changes, incidents, or emergencies.
• Collect fares, distribute transfers, and operate the onboard fare system.
• Complete and submit required reports and documentation.
• Ensure passenger safety and adherence to MATA policies and procedures.
