Case Manager Housing and Benefits Specialist for Military Veteran Mental Health Services

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a Case Manager Housing and Benefits Specialist to provide housing placement, support, and case management services for eligible homeless veteran families. The ideal candidate will have experience providing psychiatric rehabilitation services to a disabled population, low-income, and/or homeless population, and possess strong communication, listening, and team-oriented skills.

Requirements

• Developing individualized case plans for each veteran household
• Assisting veterans in obtaining employment or higher-paying employment
• Assisting veterans in applying for benefits
• Working with local landlords and property managers
• Updating and maintaining case files
• Entering client information into a secure database
• Collaborating with members to establish a working budget
• Interface with government and private agencies
• Conducting presentations regarding MHALA's housing programs
• Representing MHALA at community housing provider meetings
