Machine Operator | 1st Shift

Role Overview

Metals USA is seeking a Machine Operator for our Springfield, OH location. The Machine Operator will set up and align material, inspect plates, and perform quality control inspections on finished product. The role requires basic arithmetic skills, basic measuring skills, and experience operating an overhead crane, forklift, and hand tools.

What You Will Do

The Machine Operator will set up and align specified material, inspect plates for thickness, length, width, heat number, grade specification, and color code. They will also coordinate and execute material handling, operate an overhead crane, and perform quality control inspections on finished product.

Requirements

• High School/Technical School Graduate
• Basic English reading & writing comprehension
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Basic measuring skills
• Experience of operating an overhead crane, forklift, hand tools and common shop machinery
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to understand and use Safety Rules and Procedures as well as OSHA standards and regulations
