The CNC Programmer develops CNC programs for both Vertical and Horizontal machining centers, produces setup sheets, and interacts with other department functions and company-wide. The position requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years of related experience, proficiency in Mastercam and/or Autodesk Fusion, and experience in 3 and 4 axis programming.
Requirements
- Create numerical control programs to control machining of parts on CNC machine tools.
- Analyze GD&T, sketches, and design data to determine optimal tool paths.
- Use CAD (Mastercam, Solid Works, Fusion) software to determine and show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
- Write setup sheets to guide setup and operation of machine.
- Revise CNC programs to eliminate instruction errors and reduce run time.
- Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions.
- Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and overall Machine Shop department appearance.
- To be willing to share knowledge and instruct other members of the department and the company, by passing along skills and information to assist them in their development.
