Job Description
NextEra Energy Resources is seeking Reactor Operator candidates at the Duane Arnold Energy Center. This single unit nuclear facility is located outside Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is expected to restart in March 2026. Successful applicants will be prepared for the NRC RO exam and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) RO license program. The role involves reactor operation, engineering tasks, and ensuring plant safe and efficient operation under supervision.
Requirements
- Complete the Site Reactor Operator (RO) License
- Develop planning, organizing, and directing skills
- Practice reactor operating duties
- Complete and pass the NRC RO exam
- Complete and pass the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) RO license program
- Pass a license and physical exam that meets ANSI standards
- Must have a qualified Non-Licensed Operator background
- Pass a vocational or equivalent in a comparable facility
