Portage County Respite

Northwest Community Partners is seeking respite providers for children and families in Portage County, Wisconsin. The position offers respite services for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues in the child's home or community, providing a break for parents/guardians. The organization collaborates with the county Department of Human Services.

Requirements

• Possess educational knowledge of children with developmental disabilities (DD) and severe emotional disturbance (SED)
• Possess work experience working primarily with children and families, including programs dealing with mental health, Autism, and DD.
• Knowledge of child mental health, adult mental health, and AODA services
• Knowledge of social, emotional, and physical behavior needs
• Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients and families
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to relate to others
• Ability to assess client problems
• Ability to work well with a divergent group of people
• Ability to relate with co-workers and organizations
• Ability to maintain regular, consistent attendance
• Must be a licensed driver and have access to an insured vehicle
