Prototype & Test Engineer (m/f/d)

As our Prototype & Test Engineer, you will support the physical build-up of complex prototypes, ensure high-quality assembly, and transfer systems from prototype status to production-ready hardware.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in an industrial or R&D environment, with hands-on involvement in prototype or product build-up, mechanical assembly, or system integration.
• Proven hands-on experience in assembling complex mechatronic systems and subassemblies, including alignment, tolerancing, fastening techniques, and precision fitting.
• Solid knowledge of dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), fits, surface finishes, and stack-up considerations.
• Highly proficient with professional hand tools, torque-controlled assembly, workshop machinery, and precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial gauges).
• Practical experience integrating electrical components into mechanical systems, including cable routing, connector handling, mounting of control units, and safe first power-up procedures.
• Ideally experience with data acquisition & basic data analysis (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) and CAD systems.
• Familiar with clean, safe, & structured work environments in production or industrial facilities and documentation practices.
• Ability to systematically diagnose mechanical and integration issues using structured problem-solving approaches.
• Excellent English skills (German is a plus) and the ability to explain complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
