Principal Board Solutions Design Engineer

The Principal Board Solutions Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, robust, and state-of-the-art board hardware for various businesses and targeted verticals within NXP's Technology (CTO) organization.

Requirements

• Architect, design, and support a variety of mission-critical NXP platforms and associated tradeoffs for complex electronic systems that span hardware, software, and mechanical aspects.
• Perform PISI simulations when required.
• Provide design expertise and regional support for BU silicon, application teams, and third parties as needed.
• Ensure board designs are cost-effective for their intended applications.
• Provide technical oversight into the CAD team with respect to proper PCB layout design and best practices.
• Prepare test procedures and associated test reports documenting the lab results.
• Strong bring-up and debugging skills in a lab environment along with running associated test equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a design team environment.
• Improve core competency in board design technologies.
• Engage and provide consultation to external customers on board design and best practices.
• Perform critical design reviews for key customer accounts as needed.
