Backend Java Software Developer

Role Overview

As a Backend Java Software Developer, you'll play a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of high-performance data collection and normalisation solutions that power Nasdaq's global Trade Surveillance capabilities.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, and implement robust back-end software solutions, translate high-level architecture and design models into detailed technical specifications, and participate in technical design and functional specification reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of software development experience with strong core Java expertise in a Linux environment
• Experience with network programming (e.g., TCP/UDP) and low-level data processing, including byte-level encoding and decoding
• Proven ability to work with large data sets, complex data structures, and high-volume data manipulation and sorting
• Proficiency in Linux and scripting as well as in tools such as Git, Confluence, JIRA, and IntelliJ
