Role Overview

Join Okta's global AI Engineering team to design and build intelligent, user-facing experiences and end-to-end AI solutions. As a Principal Engineer, you will drive architecture and design, mentor others, and partner with cross-geo counterparts.

What You Will Do

Design and build AI solutions, backend services, and Agentic Experiences for web and mobile. Champion observability and operational excellence, and enable the successful delivery of key AI projects.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering
• Strong emphasis on backend systems design and development
• 8+ years in Python preferred
• 6+ years with modern front-end frameworks
• Principles of accessibility (a11y)
• Experience building and deploying production-grade AI applications and services
• Experience with agentic frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith
• Strong background in building distributed systems, microservices, and resilient APIs
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and lead architecture decisions
• Excellent communication skills
