Job Description
OpenAI's Forward Deployed Engineering team is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to lead end-to-end deployments of AI models inside life sciences organizations and research institutions. The FDE will work with customers to translate real-world data, infrastructure, and constraints into production systems, and will be responsible for designing and shipping production systems, leading discovery and scoping, and defining launch criteria for regulated contexts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software/ML engineering or technical deployment experience with customer-facing ownership in biotech, pharma, clinical research, or scientific software
- PhD, MS, or equivalent applied experience in a life sciences relevant field encouraged
- Ability to communicate clearly across scientific, clinical, model research, technical, and executive audiences
- Systems thinking with high execution standards
- Experience delivering AI systems in trial design, regulatory writing, or scientific operations
