Senior C++ Software Engineer – Critical Engineering

Optiver is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join their Critical Engineering APAC team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have strong C++ programming skills, excellent computer-science fundamentals, and experience building and operating production software systems. They will design, build, and operate components of the APAC platform, partner with representatives from all domains across the firm, and own meaningful slices end-to-end.

Requirements

• Strong C++ programming ability
• Excellent computer-science fundamentals: operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and networking
• Practical Linux/Unix proficiency
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python)
• 5+ years building and operating production software systems
• Experience working through the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation
• A track record of solving technically challenging problems and shipping them to real users
