The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of Penske Logistics’ enterprise infrastructure environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to deliver reliable and innovative IT solutions.
Requirements
- Administer, maintain, monitor, and support enterprise Windows and Linux server environments
- Manage and support virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, and related infrastructure technologies
- Support enterprise storage environments including Dell EMC, SAN/NAS, and fiber channel and ethernet technologies
- Implement automation and operational efficiencies using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools
- Perform disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and ongoing operational readiness activities
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning and design through implementation and operational support
- Develop project plans, timelines, risk assessments, contingency plans, and status reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders on infrastructure solutions and strategic initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support staff
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for infrastructure modernization and optimization
