The Ophthalmic Assistant conducts measurements and tests to aid the Physician in diagnosis and treatment, while providing excellent patient services and adhering to standards and protocols.

Requirements

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity
• Performs various tests and exams, including OCT, automated visual fields, photography, and others
• Assists with patient education and ensures informed consent
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms
• Complies with practice procedures, protocols, and regulations
